News bit: Pierre Cardin returns to runway after 10 years

An 88 year old Pierre Cardin celebrates his 60th anniversary by returning to the runway. He specifys that one of the reasons for his revival is that he knows what he does NOW will become commercial 15-20 years from now.

 "I notice that what I do early on becomes commercial some 15 or 20 years later. I'm always ahead of the curve."

 90 Prince St. will welcome the first NY flagship & 2nd boutique in the United States today (September/08/2010). It is to my understanding that the shop won't have an official opening until Friday September 10th- Fashion's Night Out!!

News Bit: Big #Win for H&M

What a win for the chain. November 20th 200 lucky H&M stores will release the premier womens and mens Lanvin X H&M collection. He now joins other designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Commes des garcon, and Stella McCartney that have also jumped on the H&M collaboration ship. Coming as a suprise to some; going back to Alber Ebaz (for Lanvin) quoting that he'd never desgin a mass-market collection; the desginer says he was more intrigued of the fact H&M is going luxury. The launch is set to host many suprises. For you fashion lovers who can't wait till the 20th, on November 2nd youll be able to view the collection online!

News Bit: Barneys FINALLY comes to Downtown Brooklyn

Another attraction for the downtown Brooklyn scene. In September Barney's co-op will be opening a brand new location right on Atlantic ave and Court st. Joining forces with Urbanoutfitters and American apparel The three stores are on their way to start a trend. Anthropologie, and Northface have been looking for space in the area as well.  This news has #Win written all over it. Although, of course being that these stores are just seconds away from where I rest my head adds a +.

News Bit: Alexander Wang's FIRST boutique revealed

It's official! Wang confirmed the location of his first boutique (flagship) will be where Yohji Yamamota once hosted; 103 grand street. Slated to be finished by the end of the year, he quotes: "It's a perfect iconic location !"

News Bit: NEW luxurious Topshop Flagship

Topshop/Topman will be opening a brand new 10,000sq ft. "flagship" location September 16th of this year. The store will be located in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo's and will be a second for the city (Harajuku district); and Japans fourth. From reading recent reviews it seems as if this wont be just some ordinary Topshop. The store will consist of a personal shopping suite where shoppers can chill and.....
